What is the name of your business? Is there a story behind the name?
Kelly Mitchell Group, Inc. The name of our organization was taken from children's names of 2 of our 3 original founders.
How did you get into recruiting? What is your favorite part about the job?
Our founders came from staffing within a large, Fortune 50 defense provider, and quickly determined that they could provide a higher level of customer service, a faster turn-around and more cost effective solution than the Big 4 staffing firms that they were used to competing with. KellyMitchell was founded on that principle and each day we strive to identify and consistently provide hard-to-find expert technologists whose skills and experience not only fit our clients’ needs, but whose personalities fit within their cultures, too. My favorite part of the job is the connection between the candidate and the client, and helping each to achieve their career, financial and personal goals.

What goals do you have for your business for the rest of 2011 and beyond?
We are thrilled to witness the pace and exponential growth of the staffing industry and expect our growth to surpass our 2009 and 2010 milestones with even more vigor. Over the past 2 years we have continued to grow our presence in the marketplace, expanded our geographical reach, examined new business units and have added new Fortune 50 clients to our portfolio. Our goals include continued growth and sustainability through 2011 and beyond.
How have you seen your business and industry change in the last five years?
Our business has dramatically increased over the past 5 years overall, and while the recession did dramatically impact the pace and volume of our business, we did notice a substantial increase in the number of corporate partners interested in flexible workforce solutions, which is natural after a down-turn in the economy. Those economic impacts fostered exponential growth within the staffing industry in general, and we expect to see that sustained for at least the next 7-8 years. Corproate partners are now looking at not only staff augmentation as a means to control overhead and employment costs, but are also increasing their PEO/Payrolling spend as well as other value-added employment outsourcing iniatives in which they are expecting more creative, cost-saving project solutions to solve their talent objectives from their vendors and partners.
How has technology changed the way you do business? (smartphones, ats', job boards etc...)
Technology has greatly impacted the speed, delivery and efficiency of the way we now conduct our business. The use of social media, smartphones, databases, wireless connectivity, online job boards and professional networking sites such as LinkedIn, have broken down data barriers and created an open-sourced environment of which to connect to passive and active candidates, as well as partners and clients, quickly, publicly and efficiently. While access to candidates/employers has become more transparent, the need to differentiate as an organization and excel in regards to delivery, creative and value-add solution management and customer service has never been more imperative. We need to deliver better solutions faster to our clients, connect to candidates faster and with a higher level of service, while remaining flexible and agile in order to embrace the changing technology environment.
What would you say about Sendouts?
Sendouts has dramatically improved our recruitment process by embracing partnerships with the online tools and job boards that enhance our recruiting process. Sendouts has also been extremely fucntional in regards to pipeline management, running metrics and reports and managing daily recruitment activites. We work closely with Sendouts to customize the tool in ways that makes sense for our business, culture and processes, and they make it extremely easy both request and execute on these changes immediately. We have noticed that Sendouts stays ahead of the curve in regards to upgrades and collaborations with other online partners, and typically come to us with new and improved enhancements before we have the chance to inquire about them.
